Adaptive Golf Instruction

A physical disability can be anything that deviates from perfect.  Typically we only think of cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, spina bifida, visual impairment, stroke, spinal cord injury, etc., as “disabilities” when actually a disability can be anything:  a torn rotator; slipped disc; ingrown toe nail; uneven leg length; decreased muscle control, strength or endurance; balance issues; etc..

Any one medical condition/disability can present in many different forms.  All individuals with spina bifida will not have the same abilities; every amputee golfer or stroke patient who swings with one arm won’t necessarily use the same adaptive equipment, if any.  Every student’s swing is uniquely theirs, like a fingerprint or signature.  The modifications to the swing and adaptations to equipment must likewise be personalized for each individual.
